MidCPG aims to provide 4 - 5 continuing education sessions per year with topics directed by its membership.    

(2023:  Covid, Vaccinations and workforce issues have impacted our CE sessions,  we hope to do more in the future) 

  • Rural Pharmacists are welcome to access our online CE.  
  • We email clinical alerts, reading and announcements to our members email database as well as listing pearls and evidence based education on Private Members Facebook Group

2021 CE#1 Depression and SSRI Service Update

Course Summary:

Presented by:        Dr Andrew Darby - Consultant Psychiatrist (Waikato DHB - secondary and primary care)

This session will provide an update on the diagnosis, management and treatment of depression, including the optimal use of SSRIs.

It will also include an overview of local mental health support services and how these can accessed.

2019 Reclassified Medicines & TDaP Project Update

Course Summary:

New Zealand is leading the world in reclassification of medicines, which means pharmacists can help their communities more than ever before. Recent audits have included reclassified medicines, with some great practices and some deficiencies also found. This session will go over key points from the last 10 years of reclassification's including: chloramphenicol, sildenafil, adapalene, calcipotriol, vaccines and trimethoprim. This will refresh knowledge for your everyday practice, help with an audit, and can contribute to your Enhance points, including group 3 if you would like it to. here will be plenty of interactive discussion and opportunity to ask questions or provide suggestions about reclassification materials.
